Kalyani Group signs three contracts at Aero India 2019
The Kalyani Group, a USD 3 billion multinational conglomerate with significant presence in defence and aerospace announced a slew of partnerships at the recently concluded Aero India 2019 in Bengaluru.
One of the significant partnerships was with the global engineering and services supplier, Belcan, LLC, with whom the company announced the partnership to provide highly advanced technological product and service offerings in defence, aerospace, and other technical segments in India. The companies said they will work together in the design and development of helicopter engines and transmission systems in defence and aerospace, as well as collaborate on advanced manufacturing practices and digital manufacturing and Internet of Things solutions.
The President & CEO (Defence & Aerospace), Bharat Forge Limited, Rajinder Singh Bhatia, said, “This collaboration allows Kalyani Group to dovetail the metallurgical and manufacturing excellence of its flagship company Bharat Forge Limited with cutting edge design and engineering capabilities of Belcan, LLC to deliver high-quality products and services to our customers.”

The CEO of Belcan, Lance Kwasniewski, expressed optimism about the growing aerospace and defence industry in India, which he said presents many attractive opportunities for Belcan, and that they are pleased to partner with Kalyani Group to leverage Belcan’s combined strengths to develop its business capabilities across the region.
Bharat Forge Limited (BFL), the flagship company of the Kalyani Group, also announced a new partnership in world-class manufacturing operations in India with AMG Partners, USA. The collaboration was formed to invest in new and advanced technologies in potential spheres of the defence and aerospace domain.
AMG Partners and Bharat Forge will work to identify global advanced manufacturing technologies for the purpose of joint development, licensing and world-class manufacturing operations in India.
The CEO of Bharat Forge Limited said, “We are excited about our collaboration with AMG Partners and look forward to investing in and bringing advanced manufacturing of aerospace and defence technologies in India. Another significant partnership announced by Kalyani Group was with Aeron Systems, a Pune-based Smart Technology Company, developing indigenous Inertial Navigation Systems (INS) & Internet of Things (IoT) solutions. The two companies came to an understanding to explore investment options into Aeron Systems, with the former coming on board as a strategic investor. The potential investment from Kalyani Group will provide impetus to the development efforts of Aeron for indigenous Tactical and Navigation class Inertial Sensors and INS systems thereof.
A fledgling technology company, Aeron is supplying its indigenously developed INS products for aircraft, armoured vehicles, drones in the defence sector and safety sensors for heavy vehicles in the automotive sector. Under its IoT product portfolio, Aeron offers high-quality Wireless Data Loggers & Gateways along with environment monitoring solutions for smart agriculture, solar power plants, smart cities and industries.
