Naval Dockyard Gets New Chief
RAdm. Kiran Deshmukh assumes charge as Admiral Superintendent Naval Dockyard, Visakhapatnam
Rear Admiral Kiran Deshmukh, VSM was appointed as the Admiral Superintendent of the Naval Dockyard in Visakhapatnam on 15 November 2018. RAdm. Deshmukh took over from RAdm. Amit Bose, VSM during a formal ceremony held at the Naval Dockyard on the same day.
Commissioned into Indian Navy in March 1986, RAdm. Deshmukh is an alumnus of DSSC Wellington and IIT Chennai. He has held several key appointments in his naval career which include afloat appointments onboard Indian Naval Ships Ranjit, Ranvir, Delhi, and Tabar and ashore appointments including Command Engineering Officer, Eastern Naval Command, Principal Director Ship Production and various appointments at Naval Dockyard, Visakhapatnam. In the Flag Rank, Rear Admiral Kiran Deshmukh has been ACOM (D&R) at Naval Headquarters and CSO (Tech) at Eastern Naval Command.
RAdm. Amit Bose, who was at the helm at Naval Dockyard, Visakhapatnam for 10 months, is now taking over as the Assistant Chief of Materiel (Modernization) at New Delhi.
