Heritage Aviation Boosts Regional Connectivity with Airbus Helicopters Under UDAN Scheme

*Hyderabad, 18 January 2024:* Heritage Aviation, a prominent aircraft charter company based in India, has placed an order for Airbus H125 and H130 helicopters to operate under the Government of India’s regional connectivity scheme, ‘Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik (UDAN). This strategic move is set to enhance air connectivity to remote locations and contribute to the growth of the Indian tourism sector.

 

Rohit Mathur, CEO of Heritage Aviation, expressed gratitude for the streamlined norms for helicopters in the UDAN scheme, stating, “UDAN scheme is a sure shot game-changer and is proving to be a turning point for helicopters in India. I am grateful to the Ministry of Civil Aviation for streamlining several norms for helicopters in the UDAN scheme and making it much more attractive for operators. The time and energy which the Honourable Minister of Civil Aviation is devoting to push the growth of the helicopter industry are phenomenal and unprecedented, and this has given us the courage and confidence to invest more in helicopters.”

Guglani highlighted the significant strides made by the UDAN scheme in enhancing regional air connectivity and empowering the Indian tourism sector. Both the H125 and H130 are great choices that will help further promote this sector in the country.”

 

The H125, a single-engine helicopter renowned for its performance, versatility, and low maintenance, is part of Airbus’ Ecureuil family, accumulating 38 million flight hours worldwide. The H130, also a single-engine helicopter, is widely used for sightseeing services, charter operations, and emergency medical services, featuring a spacious cabin for a pilot and up to seven passengers.

 

Heritage Aviation, a leading helicopter operator in India, has been awarded several new helicopter routes under the latest UDAN tender.
