ORBIT’S MPT 30WGX TERMINAL RECEIVES NETWORK ACCESS CERTIFICATE TO OPERATE ON AVANTI NETWORK

Avanti Communications (“Avanti”), a global multi-orbit provider of fully integrated connectivity services and solutions, and Orbit Communications Systems Ltd., a leading provider of airborne communications solutions, jointly announced that the Orbit MPT 30WGX airborne Ka-band multi-purpose terminal (“MPT”) has completed the Network Access Process. It is now authorized for operation across Avanti’s satellite network.

The MPT 30WGX terminal caters to the pervasive connectivity needs of Avanti’s military and commercial airborne users, facilitating a seamless transition between commercial Ka-band and Mil Ka services. Its compact, lightweight, and low-power (SWaP) design offers speeds of up to 126 Mbps for forward links and 29 Mbps for return links, ensuring uninterrupted connectivity throughout all flight phases.

This versatile terminal is compatible with various aircraft systems, including special mission aircraft, helicopters, and UAVs. It complies with industry standards, ensuring seamless integration with military satellite systems, making it an optimal choice for government airborne Intelligence, Reconnaissance, and Surveillance (ISR) applications.

Asaf Punis, VP of Business Development at Orbit, stated: “We are proud of our collaboration with Avanti. The MPT 30WGX design, combined with Avanti’s network, presents an ideal solution for missions across EMEA and parts of Asia, transmitting large volumes of data, including military aircraft and UAVs. This marks another significant step in Orbit’s expansion into key markets worldwide.”

Donald Walker, Senior Vice President of Government & Defence at Avanti, commented: “Our partnership with Orbit signifies a crucial advancement in enhancing our network capabilities for the European and African markets. The inclusion of the MPT 30WGX terminal in our network underscores our commitment to providing cutting-edge connectivity solutions for both commercial and military aviation users.”
