Integrated Gas Turbine Storage And Preservation Facility Inaugurated at Mumbai

Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Naval Command, Vice Admiral Ajendra Bahadur Singh inaugurated a newly constructed integrated gas turbine storage and preservation storehouse at the Material Organisation (Mumbai) during a review of its material and logistics facility on 13 April 2022.

The facility is a modern pre-engineered building fitted with a preservation bay that includes two electric overhead travelling cranes of 20 and 40 tonnes capacity and the space to store 70 gas turbines and reduction gears. It will house gas turbines of destroyers, frigates, and missile vessels.

The Commander-in-Chief reviewed the operational readiness of Material Organisation and emphasised the importance of maintaining a robust supply chain network to support the operational platforms of the Western Naval Command.
