CDS Inaugurates HAL’s Avionics Expo 2023 in Delhi, Applauds HAL’s Pursuit of Self-Reliance

December 7, 2023: The Chief of Defence Staff, General Anil Chauhan, inaugurated HAL’s Avionics Expo-2023 in Delhi today. In his address, he highlighted the significance of avionics as the backbone of modern flying machines. He commended the HAL team, acknowledging their pivotal role in bolstering the nation’s aviation capabilities. General Chauhan emphasized the expo’s importance in reflecting HAL’s commitment towards Atmanirbharta (self-reliance), underscoring the immediate benefits for the Armed Forces.

“The Avionics Expo underscores HAL’s commitment towards self-reliance. The Armed Forces stand to gain substantially from this initiative. This two-day event aims to facilitate networking between the Avionics Industry and the Services, aligning solutions with our diverse terrain, climate, and operational needs. In the era of data-driven warfare, avionics systems must efficiently collect, process, and disseminate real-time information for our decision-makers,” stated General Anil Chauhan.

During the inauguration, the CDS actively engaged with the expo, demonstrating keen interest in the showcased avionics products.

Mr. C.B.Ananthakrishnan, CMD (Additional Charge) of HAL, highlighted HAL’s achievements in achieving self-reliance across various avionics systems. “Avionics is a rapidly growing market with immense potential for high margins. Given the global challenges in designing and certifying avionics systems, Indian Industries must prioritize Avionics System R&D and manufacturing,” emphasized Mr. Ananthakrishnan.

Dr. D.K.Sunil, Director (Engineering and R&D), extended a vote of thanks, urging participants to capitalize on the panel discussions featuring experts from the Indian Armed Forces, HAL, partner organizations, academia, and live demonstrations of avionics products and systems.
