A BSF Personnel Dies in Jodhpur; Inquiry Ordered

On the evening of 17 July, 2020, Vinod Singh of 114 Bn BSF, SHQ Bikaner who was undergoing physical fitness course at STC Jodhpur expired at MDM Hospital in Jodhpur.

A press note by BSF stated, “He felt giddiness in the evening hours near his barracks upon which he was immediately evacuated to BSF Hospital and further taken to MDM Hospital, Jodhpur where he was declared brought dead. He was a Low Medical Category having weight of 160kgs with BMI 52.98. However, it has been found that the deceased Constable was declared fit for the above course.”

An inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the circumstances under which the individual was declared fit for the course. Amit Lodha, IG BSF Rajasthan Ftr has been directed to inquire and submit a report.




Physical fitness is an integral & essential component of BSF to maintain a high level of professional standard and is given great importance in career progression also. Hence, the courses in STC & Training Institutions are being conducted to improve and enhance the fitness of personnel in all ranks.

The press note further stated, “DG BSF and all ranks are grief stricken with the untimely demise of our comrade CT/WC Vinod Singh. CT/WC Vinod Singh is survived by his mother, wife and two sons. Prahari pariwar will always stand firm with the family members of the deceased.”
