BEL Signs Tripartite MoU for Manufacture of Indigenised Ammunition

Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL), a Navratna Defence PSU, has signed a significant tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with joint stock company Rosoboronexport of Russia and MSK Business Solutions Pvt. Ltd. The agreement, formalised today in Delhi, marks a crucial step towards the co-operation in the licensed production and supply of indigenised ammunition, including 30 mm ammunition (HEI & HET), 40 mm ammunition (VOG-25), and 30 mm grenade ammunition (VOG-30 D).

The MoU aims to harness the complementary strengths and capabilities of BEL and Rosoboronexport, facilitating the indigenisation of ammunition in alignment with the Indian Army’s requirements. This initiative supports the Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ programmes, which focus on enhancing self-reliance and domestic manufacturing in the defence sector.

Mr. K. V. Suresh Kumar, Director (Marketing) of BEL, and Mr. Viacheslav V. Kozlov, Deputy Director General of Rosoboronexport, signed the MoU in the presence of Mr. Anuj Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director of MSK Business Solutions Pvt. Ltd., and General Managers of BEL. This collaboration is set to bolster India’s ammunition production capabilities, contributing to national security and self-sufficiency in defence manufacturing.
