Rosoboronexport Showcases a Wide Range of Equipment Egypt International Airshow 2024
Participating in the Egypt International Airshow 2024, which was held for the first time at El Alamein International Airport on 3-5 September 2024, Rosoboronexport JSC (part of Rostec State Corporation) exhibited a range of products from Russian defence manufacturers. Russian companies United Aircraft Corporation and United Engine Corporation also showcased their products at the Rosoboronexport stand as part of the single Russian exhibit.
“Rosoboronexport accepted with a great gratitude the invitation of the Egyptian side to participate in the Egypt International Airshow. Our presence here will serve to strengthen military-technical cooperation between Russia and Egypt, as well as to further develop relations with countries in Africa and the Middle East, whose combined share in the company’s order portfolio exceeds 50 per cent. I am sure that the airshow has a great future, and we are ready to become its regular exhibitor,” Director General of Rosoboronexport Alexander Mikheev said.
In the outdoor display area Rosoboronexport exhibited the Ka-52 scout/attack helicopter equipped with the Item 305E light multipurpose guided missile. This helicopter is the backbone of battle groups of the Russian Army Air Force and is successfully used in combat operations, including with the Item 305E missile, to effectively destroy a variety of targets.
Exhibitors and guests at the airshow also got acquainted with the Kh-69, a new multifunctional air-launched stealth precision-guided cruise missile. This missile is likely to be included in the armament system of the fifth-generation Sukhoi Su-57E fighter, which was also on display at the show.
Also displayed were the Orlan-10E and Orlan-30 UAVs, currently being used in combat operations for aerial reconnaissance and target designation. In addition, the RB-504P-E drone countermeasures system and an airspace control system was exhibited in the outdoor display area.
In the air defence zone, the Rosoboronexport specialists were available to talk about their capabilities to build a layered air defence system, designed to protect military, civil infrastructure and industrial installations against air threats, including UAVs of various classes. The company also presented Viking and Tor-M2E SAM systems as well as Verba MANPADS.
The combat capabilities of the Pantsir-S1M self-propelled anti-aircraft gun/missile (SPAAGM) system to protect installations against strikes by a wide range of air attack weapons was also demonstrated. Rosoboronexport unveiled the latest TKB-1055 very-short-range interceptor missile designed to engage small UAVs.
