Army Chief Gen. M.M. Naravane Visits Forward Posts in Siachen

This was his maiden visit to any forward post after assuming the charge of Army Chief on 31 December 2019

Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane on January 9 morning visited Siachen base camp — considered to be the world’s highest and coldest battlefield.

During the visit, Gen. Naravane reviewed the operational preparedness and paid homage at War Memorial.




He also met and interacted with soldiers deployed at the forward posts in Siachen, lauding them for their tenacity and perseverance in challenging conditions such as inclement weather and super high altitude, the Army spokesperson had tweeted.
