Rear Admiral Deepak Kumar Goswami Assumes Charge as Admiral Superintendent, Naval Dockyard, Mumbai
Rear Admiral Deepak Kumar Goswami has assumed charge as the Admiral Superintendent, of Naval Dockyard (ASD), Mumbai, succeeding Rear Admiral KP Arvindan, AVSM, VSM.
Rear Admiral Deepak Kumar is a distinguished alumnus of the Naval College of Engineering, INS Shivaji, and was commissioned into the Indian Navy in November 1988. He holds a B-Tech Degree in Marine Engineering and an M-Tech Degree in Computer Science from IIT Madras. In addition to his academic achievements, he is a graduate of the College of Defence Management (CDM) in Secunderabad and the National Defence College in Delhi.
Over his illustrious career spanning 35 years, Rear Admiral Deepak Kumar has served the Indian Navy with distinction in various capacities. His assignments include appointments at IHQ MoD (Navy), Command Headquarters, Naval Dockyard in Mumbai, and Naval Ship Repair Yard. He has also served onboard Guided Missile Frigates Godavari, Gomati, and Beas. Throughout his service, he has held important staff appointments at the Directorate of Information Technology and Directorate of Personnel. Furthermore, he has served as Manager and Deputy General Manager in Naval Dockyard, Mumbai, as Command Engineer Officer at HQENC, as Command Refit Officer at HQWNC, and as Commodore Superintendent of Yard at the Naval Ship Repair Yard, Port Blair. His commitment to continuous learning and professional development led him to be appointed as a Directing Staff at CDM upon completing the Higher Defence Management Course.
Upon being promoted to the Flag rank, Rear Admiral Deepak Kumar assumed the responsibilities of Admiral Superintendent at Naval Ship Repair Yard, Karwar on 19th March 2021. Now, he has taken over the leadership of Naval Dockyard, Mumbai as the ASD.
As Rear Admiral KP Arvindan superannuates on 31st July 2023, after completing 36 years of distinguished commissioned service in the Indian Navy, Rear Admiral Deepak Kumar Goswami will continue to steer the Naval Dockyard, Mumbai, ensuring operational excellence and maintaining the high standards of the dockyard’s contribution to the Indian Navy’s mission and readiness.
