Memorandum of Understanding between Indian Navy and IIT Kharagpur

Indian Navy and the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur have joined forces to drive innovation through a research partnership, formalised with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Naval Headquarters, New Delhi. Rear Admiral K Srinivas, Assistant Chief of Materiel (Dockyard & Refit) at Naval Headquarters, and Prof. (Ms) Rintu Banerjee, Dean (R&D) of IIT Kharagpur, signed the MoU in the presence of Prof. Virendra Kumar Tiwari, Director of IIT Kharagpur.

This strategic collaboration aims to promote technology development, innovative solutions, and joint research and development (R&D) initiatives. INS Shivaji, Lonavala, will coordinate the MoU, facilitating joint efforts between teams from the Indian Navy and IIT Kharagpur.

The signing of this MoU signifies a significant step towards fostering a symbolic relationship between academia and the military. It creates an environment conducive to innovation and knowledge exchange, highlighting the commitment of both organisations to drive technological advancements for the benefit of the nation.
