India Invites Greater Participation of Israeli Firms in Defence Manufacturing

During the call which took place on 24 July 2020, the two sides also discussed further strengthening defence ties

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, in a telephonic conversation with his Israeli counterpart Lt Gen Benjamin Gantz, invited greater participation of Israeli defence companies under new liberalised foreign direct investment (FDI) regime in defence manufacturing.

During the call which took place on 24 July 2020, the two sides also discussed further strengthening defence ties.




Both the sides expressed satisfaction at the progress of strategic cooperation between the two countries and discussed possibilities of further strengthening the defence engagements.

Meanehile, according to the ministry of defence, the two sides also expressed satisfaction at the ongoing collaboration in research and development in fighting pandemic COVID-19 “which will not only benefit the two countries but also aid the larger humanitarian cause.”

Defence Minister of Israel responded positively to Singh’s invitation to visit India at the earliest opportunity.
