17th Indian Navy – French Navy Staff Talks Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation

In a significant stride towards enhancing maritime cooperation, the 17th Indian Navy (IN) – French Navy (FN) Staff Talks were conducted from February 6-7, 2024, in New Delhi. Chaired by Rear Admiral Nirbhay Bapna, ACNS (FCI), and Rear Admiral Jean-Marc Durandau, Director of International Engagements, FN, the discussions encompassed operational strategies, training methodologies, and expert exchanges.

 

The talks witnessed enthusiastic participation from both sides, underscoring the growing collaboration between the two naval forces. Recognizing the evolving security landscape, both delegations committed to bolstering collaboration and interoperability in the maritime domain.

 

On the sidelines, Rear Admiral Durandau engaged in discussions with Vice Admiral Tarun Sobti, Deputy Chief of Naval Staff, on February 7, 2024, highlighting the robust synergy and interoperability between the Indian Navy and the French Navy. Rear Admiral Durandau also paid a visit to the Information Fusion Centre – Indian Ocean Region (IFC-IOR) on February 6, 2024, further reinforcing cooperation between the navies.
