MHA to equip NSG with cutting-edge technology to fight terrorism

The National Security Guard (NSG) has been fighting a significant battle against terrorism in India for four decades. The force recently celebrated its 41st Foundation Day in Manesar (Gurugram) with Union home minister Amit Shah as the chief guest. 

At the sprawling NSG garrison in Manesar, the home minister also performed the ground-breaking ceremony for the Special Operations Training Centre (SOTC) on 16 October 2025. The SOTC, built on 8 acres at a cost of Rs 141 crore, will provide state-of-the-art training to special commandos combating terrorism. Not only NSG personnel, but anti-terror units established within police forces across the country will be trained at this centre with cutting-edge technology to prepare them for the fight against terrorism. In fact, the setting up of the SOTC marks a significant step towards strengthening India’s counter-terror architecture through integrated training and doctrine-based preparedness.

In his address, Shah emphasised that in a vast country like India, the central government alone cannot tackle terrorism. Rather, all state governments, special units of state police forces, NSG, and all Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) must work together to ensure the country’s safety. The SOTC will, in the near future, enhance the nation’s fight against terrorism and keep the forces ever ready.
