For the 13th Year, Thales Among World’s 100 Most Innovative Organisations

In 2026, Thales is among the 100 most innovative companies and institutions in the world, out of more than one million organisations, according to the ‘Clarivate Top 100 Global Innovators’. This year, 22 European companies and institutions, including five in France, feature in this globally recognised innovation ranking in terms of innovation. Thales is the French company with the longest consecutive presence in this Top 100.

Thales holds over 21,000 patents and patent applications, mainly in Europe, the United States and India. These protect over 6,000 inventions related to key technology sectors: artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, cloud technologies, and quantum technologies.

In the quantum field, Thales holds a portfolio of over 70 protected inventions related to sensors and quantum communications.

In Artificial Intelligence, Thales has already filed more than 200 patents for AI in critical systems. One out of every five inventions by the Group are related to Artificial Intelligence. Thales recently reached several key milestones in its global strategy to accelerate trusted Artificial Intelligence, with the launch of cortAIx-Thales’s AI accelerator-in France, the United Kingdom, Canada, Singapore, and Germany in addition to signing a partnership with Dassault Aviation to develop sovereign AI solutions.
