EURENCO Doubles Production Capacity at its Clermont (Belgium) Site
Engis,
Belgium: EURENCO recently laid the foundation stone for the project to increase
small-calibre propellant production capacity at its Clermont site (Belgium).
This event, organised in the presence of vice-president of
the Walloon government and minister for the economy, industry, the digital
economy, employment and training, Pierre-Yves Jeholet, marked a new stage in
the development of the EURENCO Group, engaged in an unprecedented industrial
effort to meet the growing demand of the defence sector.
EURENCO, which currently has the largest installed
manufacturing capacity for small-calibre propellants in Europe, will double its
production volume in less than a year. All of this future capacity has already
been reserved by EURENCO’s customers until 2032. In addition, the investments
made will improve the environmental performance of the Clermont site, both in
terms of water consumption and discharges, as well as its carbon footprint.
This increase in capacity will also be accompanied by the
hiring of almost 100 additional people, most of whom are already undergoing
training on the current production lines.
Chairman and CEO of EURENCO, Thierry Francou commented: “This
project is part of EURENCO’s drive to boost capacity at all its sites in
France, Belgium and Sweden. Faced with the current global geopolitical
situation, EURENCO Clermont intends to play a central role in European defense
sovereignty.”
CEO of EURENCO Clermont, Sébastien LARDINOIS said: “This
project marks a major milestone for EURENCO Clermont and is fully in line with
the Group’s industrial expansion. It illustrates the exemplary mobilization of
our teams and all stakeholders, whom I would like to thank for their commitment
to the collective success and strengthening of our industrial base.”
