Increasing use of technology is posing new threats. Cyber security is no longer limited to the digital world but has become an important aspect of national security. Against this backdrop, Union home minister Amit Shah has said that platforms like the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) can make a huge contribution in dealing with such threats.

Shah said this while addressing the first Foundation Day celebrations of the I4C in New Delhi where he launched four major initiatives to make the fight against cybercrime more robust, effective and successful.
Noting that no single organisation or institution can secure cyber space, he said that all stakeholders need to come together on one platform and work jointly for the cause and suggested creation of a Suspect Registry at the national level and connecting the states with it to help in prevention of cybercrime.
The home minister dedicated the Cyber Fraud Mitigation Centre (CFMC), launched Samanvay Platform (Joint Cyber Crime Investigation Facilitation System), ‘Cyber Commandos’ programme and Cyber Suspect Registry on the occasion. He also unveiled the new logo, vision and mission of I4C.
