IPS Officer Sudeep Lakhtakia Takes Over as New Director General NSG

Sudeep Lakhtakia, a 1984-batch IPS officer of Telangana cadre, has taken over as the new Director General of National Security Guard, succeeding SP Singh who retired this January end. Lakhtakia was previously serving as a special DG of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) headquarters.

Lakhtakia has also previously worked as District SP Adilabad, Khammam, Warangal, In-charge Group Commander of Greyhounds, DC (P) Hyderabad City and Joint CP of Traffic and Security, Hyderabad, Commissioner of Police Vijayawada, IG Security, State of Andhra Pradesh.




The new NSG Director General has been honoured with Independence Day Medal, Internal Security Medal, Police Medal for Meritorious Service, President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service and Special Duty Medal for his contribution in SPG.

National Security Guard (NSG), also known as Black Cats, recently hosted and won the 8th edition of All India Commando Police Competition in which 25 teams from all the central armed police forces (CAPFs) and other state police force participated. The competition was held at Manesar from January 13-20.
