INS Tabar and Spanish Navy Undertake Maritime Partnership Exercise

INS Tabar while enroute to port city Brest, France undertook a maritime partnership exercise at sea with the aircraft of Spanish Navy on 8 July near Cape Trafalgar soon after crossing the Straits of Gibraltar. A Cessna Citation Maritime Patrol Aircraft and a Sea King (SH-3D) helicopter operating from Rota Naval Base of the Spanish Navy participated in the exercise.

Operations like air defence, air picture compilation, vertical replenishment and cross-deck operation were exercised by the ship. The exercise was ‘mutually beneficial in enhancing interoperability and towards consolidating combined operations against maritime threats.’
