Sapta Shakti Command Hosts Jaipur Defence Expo

State of the art military equipment was exhibited by various firms from across India and a slew of in-house developed ideas, concepts and innovations were showcased by certain units of the South Western Command

A Defence Expo was held at the Jaipur Military Station on Friday. Indian Army’s Jaipur-based Sapta Shakti Command organised the Expo. A host of companies from across India participated and displayed their hi-tech gizmos to the media and visitors.

Speaking on the occasion, South Western Army Commander Lt Gen. Cherish Mathson said that the Expo was aimed at showcasing cutting edge technology to users and stakeholders.

“We have tremendous potential within the country to produce state of the art equipment comparable with the best in the world. This first event of its kind is the stepping stone for future events of much bigger magnitude,” said Lt Gen. Mathson.




State of the art equipment from the fields of radars, simulators, unmanned aerial vehicles, electro optics, night vision devices and equipment related to security, crowd control, traffic control, communication surveillance, special forces, firefighting, training, medical and humanitarian assistance and disaster relief were exhibited in the expo.

A slew of in-house developed ideas, concepts and innovations were showcased by certain units of the South Western Command. Lt Gen. Mathson praised the units which showcased their in-house ideas and concepts.

Lt Gen. Mathson also spoke about the upcoming Indo-US counter-terrorism exercise, ‘Vajra Prahar’, which is scheduled to be held at the Mahajan Field Firing Ranges close to Suratgarh in Rajasthan. The joint exercise will begin on November 19 and conclude on December 2, 2018.
