Russia’s foreign minister Sergey Lavrov and his US counterpart Mike Pompeo had a detailed discussion of the preparations for the meeting of the leaders of the five permanent members of the UN Security Council proposed by Russia.

They also exchanged opinions on providing strategic stability in the context of the forthcoming meetings of the Russian-US working groups on military and political subjects.




They discussed the goals of settling the conflicts in certain regions of the world, including Afghanistan, Syria and Libya.

The officials had a detailed discussion of the preparations for the meeting of the leaders of the five permanent members of the UN Security Council proposed by Russia.

The discussion was held over a telephonic conversation which was conducted at the initiative of the US side, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry.
