ITBP receives Best Marching Contingent Trophy for record sixth time
The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) has been adjudged as the best marching contingent among paramilitary and other auxiliary forces marched at Republic Day Parade 2018 on Rajpath. Defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the prestigious trophy to Director General ITBP, R.K. Pachnanda, and Assistant Commandant Akshay Deshmukh, the parade commander of the ITBP contingent in an official function on February 23.
The contingent of 148 member represented the ITBP which has participated in the parade after two year’s gap. The contingent represented all formations of the Force comprising members from almost all units of the force.
The force had been adjudged with the best contingent in the years 1998, 1999, 2000, 2004 and 2011.
