At DefExpo 2018, Thales seeks to connect with all stakeholders, have meaningful conversations and showcase its products and solutions that serve the needs of the Indian armed forces.

Our customers and partners have big ambitions, and DefExpo 2018 will play a central role in helping us demonstrate once again how we support them achieve the same. Present in India since 1953, Thales has been actively partnering with the local industry for years sharing technologies and expertise, with business and employment generation as key value additions. This year, visitors at Thales stand will get insights into our efforts in line with the government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative.

Also, through special digital immersive experiences, Thales will highlight its cutting-edge capabilities in air defence, radars, acoustics and land optronics, armaments, land and naval communication, UAVs, among others. This wide range includes high technology solutions like multi-role missiles STARStreak, Lightweight Multi-Mode (LMM) and Fury, range of rocket systems, surveillance radar such as I-Master, sonars such as CAPTAS-1 and FLASH, the airborne ISR solution AMASCOS and the most advanced latest generation of contact airborne intelligence, surveillance and security mini-drone UAV system Spy’Ranger, among others.




What aspect of your business is your primary focus at this show, and why?

The Indian government lays significant emphasis on defence modernisation and self-reliance in securing the country’s sovereignty. Their associated policies and initiatives instill much confidence in us. As an example, the ‘Make in India’ initiative has not only positioned India as one of the most attractive manufacturing destinations but also provided us with unique opportunities to partner with the Indian defence industry in this transformative journey.

From equipping soldiers with the most accurate solutions to strengthening the country’s land, sea and air defence capabilities, Thales fully supports the ambitions of the Indian armed forces. We are proud of our various solutions on which they rely, and of our collaborations built with the local industry over the years. At DefExpo this year, we will demonstrate our expertise in helping our local customers and partners master every decisive moment.

What are your expectations from the show?

A rich legacy spanning across six decades in India has helped Thales secure the confidence of the Indian armed forces, the government and the industry. At DefExpo 2018, Thales seeks to connect with all stakeholders, have meaningful conversations and showcase its products and solutions that serve the needs of the Indian armed forces. With the success of its past editions, we expect some of the most dynamic international companies, like Thales, to participate while showcasing their best in the world of innovation and defence products.
