Drone Olympics to be Held at Aero India 2019

Global and domestically manufactured UAVs to compete based on surveillance capability, supply drop challenge and formation flying challenge

Recognising the fast evolution of drones in military as well as civilian domains, Aero India 2019 will host an international competition for drones, Drone Olympics, on 21 February 2019. Being the first of such kind global event on drones, it will be a great opportunity for global and Indian drone manufacturers to showcase their Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs).




The drones will be assessed on the basis of their surveillance capability, flight time, live transmission resolution, detection of targets, weight drop challenge, formation flying capability and other criteria. The best performing drones are expected to be rewarded with cash prizes up to Rs 5 lakhs.

The government of India has decided to give UAV manufacturing enthusiasts a unique platform to demonstrate their technologies and connect with buyers around the world.

The event to be held at Air Force Station Yelahanka, Bengaluru, during Aero India defence expo 2019, will be the first of its kind global competition for UAVs. The aerospace exhibition which has already garnered a huge number of registrations from defence companies worldwide is banking high on its success this time around. The exhibition, themed ‘The Runway to a Billion Opportunities’ is scheduled to be held from 20 to 24 February 2019.

    If it is an international compilation,,, will they consider small and local drone made by the college students
