India and Thailand signed a technical agreement on White Shipping Information Exchange during Commander in Chief, Royal Thai Navy, Admiral Luechai Ruddit’s visit

Admiral Ruddit is on a four-day visit to India from December 18-21 accompanied by a nine-member delegation from the Royal Thai Navy. This is the RTN Chief’s first visit to India since his appointment back in September 2018. The visit aims to bolster bilateral maritime relations between India and Thailand.

During the visit, Admiral Ruddit held bilateral discussions with his Indian counterpart, Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Sunil Lanba. The meeting included discussions on maritime engagement issues related to operational interactions such as conduct of Coordinated Patrols (CORPATs), Training, Hydrography and METOC cooperation, participation in Admiral’s Cup and deputing of Sea Rider. Admiral Ruddit also met with defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman on December 19. On December 20, Chief of RTN visited the Western Naval Command at Mumbai to hold discussions with senior naval officials. The technical agreement signed between India and Thailand will help enhance the Maritime Domain Awareness in the region for both navies.
