Managing director, Cobham India Private Limited, Lee Griffiths
How would you judge Cobham’s display at DefExpo 2012? Were you satisfied with the response you got for the technologies and systems that you showcased during the Show?
I was very pleased with our stand and its location at DefExpo this year. We had a number of key visitors from the Indian Army, Bharat Electronics, Hindustan Aeronautics, DRDO, paramilitary organisations, police forces and, of course, private Indian defence manufacturers.
What product or concept drew most attention and which do you think will have potential in India?
If I had to choose one concept, our visitors were particularly impressed by our mine detection and bomb disposal capabilities: these capabilities are particularly relevant at the moment for military, paramilitary and police forces here.
What level of interaction did you have with the DRDO? Do you see a possibility of collaboration for co-development or co-production in India?
As I mentioned earlier I was delighted to see a number of representatives from various DRDO facilities at our stand discussing mine detection, bomb disposal UGV’s and our communication and surveillance capabilities.
