Indian Army to get new combat helmets Kanpur: The Indian Army soldiers are likely to get a superior-designed helmet, which will protect soldiers from resultant head injuries. This new helmet has strengthened protection shell and can bear the impact of 9mm bullet fired from a short range.

Weighing 2.5kg, the current helmets are heavy and uncomfortable. Manufactured by a Kanpur-based MKU Industries, the new helmets are lightweight and can also be integrated with communication devices. These helmets are likely to be delivered within three years.
