Corporate Governance Excellence Award for HAL and Technology Leadership Award to CMD-HAL

The ASSOCHAM has bestowed the Corporate Governance Excellence Award 2015-16 to HAL under unlisted public sector companies with a turnover of over Rs 500 crore category. The Union minister of state for finance and corporate affairs, Arjun Ram Meghwal presented the award to T. Suvarna Raju, CMD HAL at a function organised by ASSOCHAM in New Delhi on December 2.

“This is a great honour and I share this award with our board, management leadership and employees who have set high standards of governance. We will continue to maintain and enhance the highest standards of corporate governance, we have set for the organisation”, said Raju. He thanked ASSOCHAM and the eminent jury for this recognition.

A day before at the two-day technology congress held at the Central College Campus on December 1, the Institute of Engineers (India) at its fourth Indian Technology Congress (ITC 2016) awarded ‘Technology Leadership Award’ to. T. Suvarna Raju, CMD, HAL. About 600 delegates from industries, R&D laboratories and academia participated in the congress on the theme ‘Excellence in Engineering Practice: Networking and collaboration’. The Congress is being held under the leadership of eminent personalities like Prof. R.M. Vasagam, Chairman, National Advisory Committee-ITC 2016 with Justice M. Rama Jois and others.

Addressing the gathering mostly comprising budding engineers, Raju said, HAL has been adapting ‘Engineering Innovation’ to remain competitive in the manufacturing sector. The new engineering technology that will enhance the manufacturing competitiveness is the 3D manufacturing and towards this HAL has procured Rapid Prototyping machines to explore manufacturing of components.

Indian Technology Congress has emerged as a leading forum for the confluence of thought leaders in technology, sciences and business working on deploying technology – intensive solutions for contemporary challenges. ITC-2016 is organized by the Foundation for Educational Excellence (FEE), The Institution of Engineers (India), National Design and Research Foundation (NDRF), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Indian Institution of Production Engineers (IIPE) and other professional associations actively involved with technology promotion and application.
