The Hawk Mk132 has completed 100,000 flying hours while serving the Indian Air Force (IAF). On this occasion, Steve Timms, managing director, defence information, training and services, BAE Systems congratulated IAF and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL).

“The IAF’s Hawk advanced jet trainer is a compelling story of success, providing new generation training to next generation air warriors and delivering our commitment to ‘Make in India’ in partnership with HAL. The IAF is one of the largest operators of the Hawk globally and we wish its air warriors safe landings,” said Timms.

The Hawk advanced jet trainer is also in service with the Indian Navy. BAE Systems and HAL are working together for the successful completion of a potential order to supply products and services for the manufacture of a third batch of Hawk advanced jet trainer aircraft. The aircraft which is to be built by HAL in Bengaluru, will fulfil the IAF’s requirement for its prestigious aerobatic team, the Surya Kiran.
