What key technologies and systems would you be showcasing at DefExpo 2016?
Saab will be participating in full strength with a strong global team including group management at DefExpo 2016. We will display a broad range of products covering the land, naval, air and civil security domains at DefExpo in Hall 3 stand 3.1.3.
The Saab stand will exhibit, among others, the RBS 70 NG VSHORAD system; the BAMSE SRSAM system; the RBS15 Mk3 surface-to-surface missile; Saab’s Mine Counter Measures (MCM) suite; the Carl Gustaf M3, M4 and AT4, IDAS and EW Portfolio; and the Gripen NG.
What aspect of your business is your primary focus at this show, and why?
Saab has a wide portfolio of products, across the Land, Air, Sea and Civil Security. Of special focus during DefExpo would be our marine portfolio, including our Mine Counter Measures Suite; our Air Defence systems, the RBS 70 NG VSHORAD and the BAMSE SRSAM; and the Gripen NG. We are also, this year, celebrating 40 years of our partnership with Ordnance Factory Board (OFB).
What are your expectations from the show?
DefExpo brings together key stakeholders from the industry as well as the government and armed forces. It serves as a great opportunity for a credible display of our products and showcase for Swedish technologies, enabling Indian stakeholders to better understand the Saab offer for India. In the long run, we expect engagements like these to open for us more windows of opportunity, and strengthen our business proposition in India.
At this show, we look forward to connecting with Indian defence forces, homeland security forces, the public, defence research establishments, defence public sector units and the private sector. We believe that it is an exciting place for some very interesting discussions to get rolling, and to put focus on state-of-the-art military technologies and products under one roof.
Saab’s core message is ‘Teaming up with India’ – for modernisation of defence forces and systems for safe air and maritime environment along with a secure homeland. Saab has made a long-term commitment to India, and plans to team up with Indian companies on major programmes to ‘Make in India’. We will also explore newer opportunities for long-term industrial cooperation with both the public and private sector players in India.
