The first pension adalat of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) was held at Transport Battalion, ITBP on May 11. Around 650 retired personnel and families of the Force attended the Adalat to seek removal of pension and family pension anomalies. About half the cases were disposed off on the spot. The adalat is seen as massive relief for the pensioners to redress their grievances on a single window platform. Some retirees among the pensioners were recruits of the year 1962- the year when ITBP was raised.

In the inaugural address, Krishna Chaudhary, DG, ITBP welcomed the retirees and assured that more such Adalats will be held on regular intervals in other parts of the country.. The Adalat will redress the complaints of the retirees and families on pension fixation and other related issues.

The next pension adalat will be held in Dehradun.
