ITBP Flags Off Dhaulagiri Mountaineering Expedition

On March 10, Indo-Tibetan Border Police force held a flag off ceremony at its Delhi headquarters for the first Dhaulagiri Mountaineering Expedition 2017. The expedition was flagged off by DG, ITBP Krishna Chaudhary and Home secretary Rajiv Mehrishi.

Deliberating upon the achievements earned by ITBP in the field of mountaineering , Mehrishi conveyed his greetings for the success of the expedition. He said that the ITBP has expertised its personal in mountaineering and other adventure sports. On the occasion, DG Krishna Chaudhary said "ITBP mountaineers will be attempting summit of Dhaulagiri for the first time”.

Commandant, Arjun Singh will lead the team of 25 members of ITBP for the Dhaulagiri expedition. This team is fully equipped with the necessary snow and rock equipments required for mountaineering. The team aims to summit the peak on any day in May 2017 depending upon the weather conditions.
