India to Get Armed ‘Heron’ From Israel Soon
Heron TP

In the wake of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s first ever visit to Israel in July 2017, India is preparing to receive 10 combat UAVs. Developed by Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), the Heron TP now has a new export version which can be supplied to countries such as India which are members of Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR).

The Heron TP is an unmanned reconnaissance aircraft with the ability to carry a payload of 450 kg. It remains to be seen if the project is integrated with government’s ‘Make in India’ policy and whether IAI would transfer technology and production to India in the near future.
